Here is a pic of my girl, Fierra Foxey. She has 3 legs, and is about 7 years old. I got her from my vet's office, which is next door to my dad's office. Her old owners had her in the back of a pickup truck and she fell out and got drug. They dropped her off at the vet and never came back. The vet office had her for a while and were going to put her to sleep since they couldn't find her a home (she does NOT like most men, and she is skiddish of children - I am pretty sure she was abused). They called my dad to see if he knew anyone who could take her. I went to see her, and fell in love...

She is sweet and super protective. For a single girl who lives alone, she is a great watchdog. And she likes my cats, too. She is also the only dog I've ever had that had to be coaxed into coming in the house - she'd rather stay outside and chase birds and squirrels. I can't tell you how many times I've been outside when it was below freezing trying to get her to come in the house. She doesn't even like to come in when it's raining, she justs runs around and plays in the rain :)

Such a beautiful girl! I am so happy that you took her in. My chow used to love snow the most, especially when we got a foot or two. Bundle up and go play with her! Maybe thats why she needs to be coaxed! She trying to coax you out to play! Lol!

mine too

i have a chow chow german shepard mix. he was never abused, i've had him since he was a puppy. i love him to death, but he doesn't like kids or men. it takes him a long time to accept someone new into his house. he's super protective. he's never bitten anyone, and i've been to three different trainers to try to get him more socialized so i could bring him to the dog park with my lab mix. they all say it's just his personality and chows tend to be like that. it's kinda cool though, knowing that he's so loyal. my lab mix would probably go home with just about anyone!
